The Musculus gracilis (lat.: slim muscle) is a skeleton muscle near the surface of the thigh and ranks among its Adduktoren.
The effective range of the Musculus gracilis extends over two joints: the hip joint and the knee joint. In the hip joint it bends the thigh and pulls it to the body center (Adduktion), in the knee joint bends it the Unterschenkel and turns it inward (medial).
Its antagonists are the and the M. tensor fasciae latae.
With the four-legged mammals it is primarily a Adduktor, partially works it also as Strecker of the knee joint.
