The Musculus mylohyoideus, German Kieferzungenbeinmuskel, is a skeleton muscle of the head and rises to the Linea mylohyoidea, a tender bone border at the inside of the lower jaw. It sets at the tongue leg (OS hyoideum) and to from the Spina mentalis Raphe running to the tongue leg.
The muscle serves for to the opening of the lower jaw as well as elevation of the tongue leg. The muscle is called also diaphragm of the lower jaw. The innervation is made by the Nervus mylohyoideus.
