The Musculus of teres minor (lat.: small round muscle) is with humans on the back of the body, with animals at the rear side of the shoulder joint. He becomes partly (humans) or completely (animals) from the Musculus deltoideus covers. Together with the Musculus supraspinatus, infraspinatus and Musculus subscapularis he forms the Rotatorenmanschette, which holds the head of the Humerus in the Gelenkpfanne for Musculus with humans.
The Musculus of teres minor is responsible for Adduktion (i.e. readvancing of the bent arm to the body), external rotation and Retroversion (i.e. stretching the arm to the rear) of the upper arm.
With animals it works as Beuger of the shoulder joint.
