The Musculus pectoralis minor (lat.: Small chest muscle) is a skeleton muscle, which descends from M. pectoralis the major and is completely covered from whom it.
It has its origin to the 3. to 5. Rib, approx. 1 to 2 cm of the bone cartilage border and pulls to the Processus coracoideus (Rabenschnabelfortsatz).
On the one hand the muscle pulls after to shoulder diagonally in front down, and serves when resting the arms as breath auxiliary muscle. Internal fourth becomes the M. pectoralis minor from the Nn. pectorales medialis and lateralis (C6-C8).
