Muslim Television Ahmadiyya (MTA) is a religious television station of the moslemischen religious community Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat with seat in London.

MTA international is the first not commercial Islamic television station, which is to be received world-wide 24 hours. The programs have however not only religious, but also cultural contents. The transmission contributions are provided by members in non-profit work (Waqar e amal).

MTA international is sent in the following languages: malayisch, German, English, urdu, Arab, Chinese, French, Indonesian, bengalisch.

History

MTA international was created by Mirza Tahir Ahmad, the fourth Khalifen of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, on 1 January 1994. This Muslim transmitter radiates its program of London over satellite. In the initial phase MTA international could be received only 5 hours daily in Europe, and is now since 1 April 1996 is MTA international world-wide 24 hours to be received. This transmitter exclusively finances itself by the donations of its members. This is possible by honorary work of members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat.

Goals and function

A characteristic is the unkommerzielle function. All activities are implemented without assistance of television specialists honorary by members, that gained the necessary specialized knowledge auto+didactically. MTA international sends a multicolored mixed program with the emphasis on transmissions of religious contents, with which the mirror-image-ritual and moral development of the municipality is to be supported.

The transmissions are produced in the whole world and often sent in different languages over seven different audio channels (e.g. English, Urdu, German, Arab, Bangla, French, Turkish, Indonesian among other things). In certain time windows the national contributions are sent. There is each evening from 18.00 to 19,00 o'clock transmissions in German language. In most contributions dominates however still [Urdu].

MTA international intended to the Islamic teachings understanding and offers the dialogue between the religions.
