MZ motorcycle and two-wheeler work GmbH is a motorcycle manufacturer from Zschopau in the ore mountains in Is Saxonia-shortened the company name with read the shortened company name of 1992-1998 MuZ an attorney the rights at the name "MZ" to the company Kanuni had illegitimately sold there. 1990 are denationalized MZ. The enterprise motorcycle work Zschopau GmbH announces bankruptcy on 18 December 1991. Reasons are among other things the way break of the market in Eastern Europe and East Germany. The ETZ patents were sold to the company Kanuni in the Turkey, which still continued to manufacture the models 251 and 301 some time.

After some attempts at revival the malaiische company Hong Leong takes over 1996 the enterprise.

The road machine scorpio is not no more produced since 2002, the Baghira Enduro disappeared for 2006 from the program.
Due to the general market situation as well as the high manufacturing costs the enterprise saw itself compelled in August 2005 to accomplish extensive Umstruktrierungen.
