Nathan Zuntz (* 7 October 1847 in Bonn, "† 23. March 1920 in Berlin) was a German physician of Jewish faith.

Zuntz, which was active in the area of the physiology and worked as a tidy professor on the agricultural university Berlin, opened the first laboratory of the sport medicine in Germany-born in the parental house in the dog lane 26 to 1911, buildup it in Bonn and put 1864 down its Abitur. 1865 it began a medicine study at the Bonn university. it attained a doctorate to 1868 and received in such a way with 21 years its license to practise medicine as a physician. It opened a practice and became 1870 assistant with his doctor father Eduard at the Bonn university. It habilitierte itself 1870 as a private lecturer and became 1874 extraordinary professor. He taught professor for animal physiology at the royal agricultural university Berlin in Bonn until 1881 and took over then. There he investigated the physiological change in humans and animal in extreme situations and developed innovative research methods in the area of the achievement and elevator medicine. For the better investigation of heart and cycle invented he 1885 the run volume. After the establishment "„of the German association for the promotion of the airship travel "“the emperor donated 25000 realm Marks for attempts. Zuntz ascended 1901 with the help of different equipments with a balloon on 10500 meters. This elevator record was held 30 years. Since that time it is considered as the Wegbereiter of the modern elevator physiology and the founders of the aviation medicine. Until 1919 he taught at the agricultural university. A Professur at the university remained refused for it because of the prevailing Antisemitismus. 1920 it died in Berlin.
