NDR television is the third television program in such a way specified north Germans of the broadcast, which is produced together with radio Bremen for the Lands of the Federal Republic Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein.

History

On 4 January 1965 the NDR as well as radio Bremen and the transmitter at that time started free Berlin (SFB) with the radiant emittance of its own third television program first as "“III. television program of the north chain"”, late north 3 and/or simply N 3 for the Lands of the Federal Republic Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Bremen and Berlin.

The program was removed step by step to a full program and is for the 1990er years also over satellite in almost completely Europe to be received. To 1 January 1992 the country Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania joined the NDR by convention as the fourth Land of the Federal Republic. Thus the transmission area of N 3 became larger accordingly, but in October 1992 the SFB from the third television program N 3 already separated and radiated thereafter a its own citizen of Berlin television program under the name B 1, which was renamed later in SFB 1. Thus N reached 3 (which at the same time the surname "“north German television"” received) its current circulation area. In December 2001 the program in NDR television was renamed.

On 3 January 2005 the regional transmissions by radio Bremen, which were radiated so far within the community program of the pool of broadcasting corporations first, to the NDR television were transferred. Since that time radio Bremen calls its own productions within NDR television radio Bremen TV.
