Note feathers/springs, also Music Nib or music feathers/springs mentioned, are pens, which were developed for the first time into the 1930er years. The probably most remarkable characteristic of the note feathers/springs is the doubly slit feather/spring with the two vents (and/or heart holes), which exert a substantial influence on the write behavior of the stylograph. The double feather/spring slots lead one up to twice as large quantity ink forward to the feather/spring grain.

Thereby a broad, but flat polished feather/spring is typical, with which pronounced kalligrafische effects, i.e. thin and broad lines can be obtained.

Note feathers/springs were conceived particularly for the letter under very easy and/or no pressure. Misfires are therefore rare with these stylographs rather. If one pushes open more strongly, the ink river increases noticeably, so that the typeface is"” more alive "“very much than during the writing with normal feathers/springs.

The letter with a note feather/spring is habituation needy, since the feather/spring can tilt by the sharp cross section relatively fast. One cannot recommend stylographs with such a note feather/spring to writers, that have already problems with COM feathers/springs.

Generally one should expose not too much pressure to these feathers/springs; in addition, by double splitting the feathers/springs are more flexible, bend faster.
