The assumption of NTW

The transmitter NTW was one of the pioneers of the post office-Soviet independent media. The enterprise led by Vladimir Gussinski had the best journalists and moderators. The transmitter set up high professional standards for the Russian television, brought live-transmissions and a sharp analysis of the current events. Its political doll satire "“Kukly"” became a symbol of that time, in which the free speech was practically unlimited.

In the June of the yearly 2000 Gussinski was arrested of the chief public prosecutor's office as a suspect in a criminal procedure. It became the fraud between its getting things "“Media Most"”, which accuses "“Russkoe of video - 11j channel"” - GmbH and the national enterprise "“Russkoe video"”. "“Media Most"” was complicated at that time into the controversy over the assumption by Gazprom.

Gussinski became finally to dismiss, after he signed so-called "“minutes No. 6"”, a contract between him and the medium Minister Mikhail Lessin. After the present Treaty Gusinski should sell "“Media Most"” at Gazprom at the price ordered by Gazprom. Gussinski left afterwards the country and stated, one would have forced him under menace of the extension of the criminal procedure to the signature under the contract.

On 14 April 2001 the assumption NTWs finally took place by Gazprom. Many journalists left the enterprise (which continued with new guidance however under the old name), and that director one replaced.

Many assume that behind the financial pressure on NTW the government of president Putin stood, which had been frequently object of the criticism NTWs. Former NTW journalists changed together with its superior Jewgeni Kisseljow to the transmitter TW6, which renamed itself finally later in TVS and likewise on pressure of the government one closed.

After Gussinski had pulled abroad, he created there the television station RTVi, which regards the events in Russia from a critical point of view. Many reports for RTVi are made by the Russian television station echo TV.

"“Here was NTV"”

In the year 2002 the book appeared was NTV von Wiktor Schenderowitsch here, in which that one stated the events in the enterprise NTW from the view of humans, who had confessed even in the center of the happening. In the book are a number of interesting facts specified, and until today it is the only complete (although subjective) description of the pursuit of NTW on the part of the government and the following assumption of the enterprise. The book consists of two parts: first describes the history of the transmitter NTW, second tells the history of the transmission "“Kukly"”.

In the year 2004 appeared the second expenditure of the book, which received the title: Here NTV, TV-6, TVS was"… and other stories. How can be guessed easily, the text of the first book a narration was added here over the events, which course-carried with the NTW journalists after their leaving the transmitter have.
