In the German right numerous obligations to register exist. With the obligation to register in relation to the state the obligation is incumbent on the citizen to indicate a certain procedure to the responsible in each case authority.

Obligations to register after the German right e.g. are.:

  • to announce itself at its new residence
  • Person condition obligations to register with birth, marriage, death
  • Suffer, which fall under the infection law for the protection, like e.g. dangerous sticking on diseases (smallpox, Tuberkulose etc.) as well as heavy (in particular bacterial) food poisonings (Botulismus, Salmonellose, typhoid fever among other things)
  • Trade-legal reasons and changes
  • Occupation (obligation to register is incumbent on the employer) in relation to the social security institution
  • Industrial accidents
  • Changes of the owner of a motor vehicle (e.g. Living address, surname).
  • Accident message
  • Messages in military affairs, e.g. Enemy contact, losses

Special obligations to register can be arranged by courts. Usually are this residence obligations to register. These are imposed in the foreigner right and in the criminal law.

The neglect of the obligations to register regularly irregularities represent, partly also to criminal offences.
