Offices for citizen (also citizen office or citizen service) are mechanisms of the municipal administration, in whom public-intensive services for the citizens in a place are summarized.
First developed into the 1980er years (e.g. Unna, Bielefeld), in large extent were established them into the 1990er years and are expression of the customer orientation of the administration and the efficiency increase. The concept contains numerous urban services under a roof, as residence near as possible, at extended opening times and short waiting periods. The pallet of the tasks reaches from the treatment of documents of identification and passports over tax cards, rent subsidy up to pensions, adjacent resident park disks, check garbage maps and garbage bags. In large forms either requests will become all important tasks of the municipal administration prechecked or it all social, youth and housingpolitical tasks of a municipality decentralized offered (social community centre and/or - office in large cities, e.g. Munich). The administrations try increasingly to reach the same function by new information technologies and on-line communication and/or call center.
The persons employed have other work forms (flexible working hours, open-plan office) and their activity in offices for citizen is both connected with work enrichments and partly with higher working loads.
