The officer of the guard service (OvWa) designates the utility position of the platoon leader of a military or civilian awake course.
It can concern a soldier in the service rank of an NCO with Portepee up to the officer.
It is set forward to the awake course after "§ 3 superior regulation (VorgV). Due to this utility position it the NCOs of the service (UvD) particularly are and, if available, the Gefreiten of the service (GvD) subordinates, as well as the sergeants of the week service (FvW) for the fulfilment of its tasks outside of the framework service.
In the context of its tasks it becomes regularly by the deputy officer of the guard service (StOvWa) or directly represented by the sergeant of the guard.
Both OvWa and the StOvWa carry a silver-grey twisted shoulder cord over the right shoulder and/or an arm seal at the left upper arm with the label "OvWa" at the uniform as recognition character. Further this silver shoulder cord is carried by the sergeant of the guard and its deputy in the guard service.
