The television channel Okto exists since 28 November 2005. Okto can be received only regionally in Vienna over the cable TV offerer UPC Telekabel on channel 8 under the frequency 196.25 MHz. In addition an additional spreading as Stream in the Internet is planned in the course of the yearly 2006, individual transmissions is available as Download.

Okto sees itself as only not-commercial television station of Austria. There is no advertisement, which transmitters financed over promotions by the municipality Vienna on Okto. The cooperation with the transmitter is honorary and is not paid. Since the transmitter is meant as Komunikationsplattform for Vienna, can produce jede/r, which/those wants to go through, after completing a course transmissions.
