In the facade design the monument conservationists oriented themselves at the gothical original; thus the main window became again more highly; the again-gothical elements, above all the statues Ludwig of the Bayerns (west front) and Heinrich of the (east front) and the Giebelgestaltung remained.

For a long time in the public a possible reconstruction of the valley castle tower was discussed, finally reconstructed Erwin creeps 1971 to 1974 the 56 meters high old person city hall tower after the gothical original of 1493.
