The Astra H is the current vehicle of the compact class the Adam OPEL AG.

The OPEL Astra H is built as a successor of the OPEL Astra G since 2004.

On its "T-Car" - also models the general engine marks Vauxhall and Holden develop platform.

After the Astra G the overhauled completely and again designte H-model fights now with the VOLKSWAGEN gulf V for the place of the usually-sold volume model.

There are in series Tempomat, power steering, Zentralverriegelung with radio remote maintenance, electrical window lifters in front and electrical outside mirrors, 6x Airbags, ABS, going away barrier and ESPplus, TCplus, curve brake control (CBC), and a brake assistant.

Additionally extras are optionally available like a climatic mechanism (ECC), a DVD navigation system, a languagesteered radio and telephone, a tire pressure control system (TPMS) or an a park assistance (PDC).

Among the further technical highlights the adaptive chassis with electronic absorber regulation (IDS+) and the curve light AFL (adaptive forward Lighting) ranks.

The sporty Topmodell OPC has increased bumpers and Seitenschweller, a centric-lying exhaust and in series 18 " - wheels. The sport seats come from the renowned manufacturer Recaro. The 2.0 l turbo engine with 176 KW (240 HP) accelerates the Astra in 6.4 seconds on 100 km/h, the maximum speed lies with 244 km/h.

Speed and acceleration

With these aggregates it, depending upon motorizing, reaches maximum speeds from 174 to 244 km/h and has an acceleration between 6,4 and 15.4 seconds of 0 to 100 km/h.

Consumption

Consumption lies according to European Union standard between 4,8 l with the smallest Diesel and 9.4 l with the 2.0 l turbo machine.

Transmission

From technical view the 6-Gang-Getriebe, which is blocked with the engines, is remarkable. Alternatively there are a 5-Gang transmission, 4 - or 6-stage mechanism or an automated transmission of which with OPEL Easytronic is called. Selbige has 5 courses and for the 1,3 CDTi also as 6-Gang version is shortly offered.

Mass

The Astra is depending upon model approx. 4.25-4.50 m long, 1.75 m broad and 1.43-1.50 m highly. It weighs approx. 1.3 t.

Security and comfort

Worth mentioning here the electronic control system for the chassis is named IDS (optional with absorber adjustment). Optionally (with the top model Cosmo in series) is besides the adaptive curve light available, which so far only the higher Fahrzeugklassen was reserved. The consumer protection organization EuroNCAP (European new Car Assessment Program) assigned the maximum number of 5 stars to the Astra.
