The OPEL record D was presented to 1972 as a successor of the OPEL record C. The designation read at the beginning of "record II", in order as Diesel model to be measure-interpreted. It was available, recognizable a Diesel version with 2,1 litres capacity from the characteristic embossment on the hood.
