The OPEL zoo (George of OPEL free enclosure for animal research registered association) is beside the zoo in eastends the second zoo-logical garden in the city region Frankfurt.

The zoo is in a forest area between king stone and Kronberg directly because of the federal highway 455. On an extensive area about 1000 animals of 200 animal species in the zoo live. All continents and climate zones are represented.

The zoo was created on initiative of George von Opel 1956 as research enclosure. The OPEL zoo counted 2003 of approximately 600,000 visitors.
