An order is the request of a customer of a manufacturer, a dealer or a Dienstleister for the supply of a product or a service. The order in most cases flows into a contractual relation, by which both sides commit themselves to the fulfilment of the mutual agreements.

In the context of production planning and - one speaks control also of external orders contrary to internal production orders.

One differentiates among other things between the following kinds of orders:

Normal purchase order

A normal purchase order is an optimal order, it is as much ordered that the storage costs do not rise but must by dead capital, sufficient commodity be present around customer's requests to cover.

Small order

A small order is the order of a small quantity.

Contract order

Limit order

A limit order is an order with a value limit (value upper limit) and a running time instead of a date of delivery.

Relocating order

A relocating order is an order to the relocation of goods or other materials of a work into another work or from a camp to another camp.
