Oil price

A diagram for the development of the oil price since 1970 is to be found under. It is to be noted with the fact that the nominal oil price is not to be confounded with the material. The material oil price is inflation-adjusted, whereas the nominal is rather deceitful, by letting the current oil price appear in such a way, as if would be higher he than 1981 (the material all time high), although he reaches material (=inflationsbereinigt) only less than half of the conditions of 1981.

On 20 April 2006 the oil price achieved a new record mark. For the North Sea sort Brent was the price about 73,83 US Dollar per barrel (about 159 litres). Brent is used as reference for the evaluation by more than 65 per cent of the acted world-wide.

In the following the annual average prices for the Dubai (1970-1985 Arabian Light) are indicated to oil places, Brent (1976-1983 Forties), Nigerian Forcados and west Texas Intermediate (WTI) in US Dollar per barrel.
