Paulos saw its work in the tradition of the Oribasius, however she should have to be used more complete and simpler than its work and nevertheless beyond a simple manual not go. Sources were above all Oribasius, in addition, the works of the Hippokrates, corpus Hippocraticum, Soranos, Pedanios Dioskorides, Galen and Aetios.

Possibly there is still another further work of Paulos over how Arab sources suggest it. It is however just as well possible that only the part was over the from its sixth book in an independent form in circulation. Its work was so estimated in Arab time that it got the surname birth aids.

Paulos of Aiginas work was delivered in various handwriting. Possibly in late ancient times the books were arranged again, at least sixth and sieved book seem into two volumes to have been arranged. Since that 9. Century gave it Arab translations. In the Arab medicine the work was also strongly rezipiert. In latin literature Paulos was not before that 11.
