Peter Dettweiler (* 4 August 1837 in winter home; "† 1904 in Kronberg in the Taunus) were a German lung specialist and the founder of the sanatorium nature in Germany.

Dettweiler began its medicine study 1856 and studied in pouring, peppering castle and Berlin. In pouring it was member of the Corps Teutonia.

1864 he was freiwilliger physician during the GermanDanish war. it practiced to 1864 to 66 in Pfeddersheim (today to Worms). Also with the German war 1866 he was freiwilliger physician, late army surgeon in Darmstadt. 1870 he became a second physician in the Brehmer mental hospital for lung patient in From 1870 to 1871 he was again freiwilliger physician during the French-German war.

1876 transferred Dettweiler the line of a new mental hospital in the Taunus (mental hospital falcon mountain). In falcon stone it established the first German welfare place for lung patient without means to 1891.
