Philinos of Kos was a physician, in 3. Century v. Chr. in the antique Greece lived.

Philinos was a pupil of the Herophilos and the founder of the empirical physician school, whereby he partly broke with the theories of the Herophilos. To the physicians among other things the principle applied for the empirical school that they must have exact knowledge of the medicines and their effect. Philinos was therefore also a trailer of the pharmacology. As its successor in the empirical school serum pion of Alexandria is considered.
