History

The Italian Battista "“Pinin"” Farina (* 2 November 1893 in Turin; "† 3 April 1966) was an Italian body farmer. It created 1930 the company "“Carrozzeria Pinin Farina"” the of the today's "“Pininfarina spa"”. The company sketched numerous vehicles of the marks Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Fiat, Jaguar, Lancia and Peugeot.

In the year 1961 Battista "“Pinin"” was permitted to Farina by the Italian president on suggestion of the Minister of Justice to change its surnames in Pininfarina.

Nowadays Pininfarina sees itself as Design and Ingenieursdienstleister for the entire automobile industry. Beside the draft of vehicles, Pininfarina offers support to the derivative of Karosserievarianten such as Cabriolets, combinations or during the preparation of the body manufacturing and manufactures small and middle series.

Design

At present is countless Top of models, which were sketched or modified by Pininfarina, in production. Among them sports cars of Ferrari, luxury sedans of Maserati, in addition, many normal middle class vehicles like the Chinese Zhonghua or small car like the Hyundai matrix.

Also in the rail-mounted vehicle Design Pininfarina made itself a name. Among the drafts, the intertown center slope course SBB RABDe 500 and the Italian high-speed course ETR 500 rank the locomotive SBB RH 460.

Production

Pininfarina manufactures vehicles in small and middle series in the own work also, for example the Fiats 124 Spider, various Cabriolets for Peugeot or the Mitsubishi Pajero Pinin. Starting from 2006 are to be installed in the Turiner Pininfarina work among other things the first Cabrio of Ford in Europe with a hinged Hardtop. Basis for this will be Ford focus.

After the door of the Renault company from Matra 2004 Pininfarina acquired its portions and plan medium-term to take up production in the French work Romorantin Lanthenay again.
