Polyplay was the only Arcade automat, which was developed in the GDR.
It was developed by the VEB Polytechnik Karl Marx city and manufactured from 1986 to 1989. Altogether approximately 2000 automats left the work in this period. The housing was brown and by the furniture manufacturer VEB space art Mosel (Zwickau) was manufactured.
The automat was sold preferentially to FDGB holiday homes and public mechanisms. An automat cost about 30,000 Marks (east).
The Polyplay ran with a Zilog Z80 reproduction (U880), which with 2.457600 MHz was clocked, and Custom sound.
It supported a Farbpalette with 8 colors and ran in a picture resolution from 512*256 pixel with 50 Hertz on the colour television set inserted for it behind a windowpane (RFT Colormat 4506).
Altogether eight plays were available.
