Preference papers are called documents, which have a decrease or an exemption from duty from the imported goods to the consequence. This among other things (in the European Union) the following documents can be:

  • EUR.1
  • A.TR
  • GSP (form A)

Here is to be differentiated between a partial and complete release. A EUR.1 document offers nearly for all goods with the origin Switzerland, Israel, Mexico, Norway, Iceland,"… Exemption from duty. I.e. any goods according to the origin criteria of the Zollkodex the preference criteria correspond are seized from the origin rules and can tariff-favoured be introduced. An exception is the agreement with Turkey. All goods, which in the European Union or in Turkey into free traffic were transferred (directly with which origin), can with the A.TR document duty-free into European Union/Turkey be imported. A GSP (=Form A) offers usually only a partial release of the deliveries. This concerns agreements with countries of the 2. and 3. World.
