A process companion is responsible person and advisor of high-level personnel and coworkers with change processes in enterprises. It can be differentiated between an external and an internal process companion, whereby it concerns with external process companions an advisor standing outside of the enterprise, while the internal process companion is coworker of the enterprise.

Process companions do not have a superior function, but should "„neutral "“companions of the group development process be.

Process companions are not responsible in enterprises for technical questions and problems, but they are the specialists for social processes and the methods of the group work. One of their most important tasks during the support of the individual coworkers on the way to the group identification is the function of the feedback giver. They reproach to the coworkers in the group the mirror, in order to strengthen group-official behaviors and reveal and reduce hinderliches behavior.
