By procurement in the broadest sense of the management economics both the purchase, and procurement logistics are understood. It is part of the operational process.

Term

Procurement

  • makes everything available, what in production is needed (material production goods stream)
  • for the achievement production goods in the necessary quantity & quality needed at the correct place for the order to place at the right time.

The Objektumfang of the procurement is defined without uniformity. In the economical literature all employment factors necessary for the reaching of the real objective of the enterprise (raw, auxiliary, fuels, workers, capital, services, rights, external information) are called procurement objects. In practice the term becomes more closely than the allocation of material (raw, auxiliary and fuels, semi-manufactures, commodity) and services interpreted.

Conceptual demarcation and tasks

Depending upon aspect (in the literature) procurement logistics subsection of the purchase turned around or; the division of responsibilities however is clearer:

Tasks of the purchase i.e.S. are

  1. Procurement market study (see also market analysis)
  2. Advertisements, examination of the offers, production of the price mirrors
  3. Contract negotiation and - arrangement (e.g. basic agreements and planning of the order handling)
  4. Selection of the suppliers

Tasks of procurement logistics i.e.S. are

  1. Organization of the delivering transportation
  2. Goods received and - receiving control
  3. Storage logistics (stock control) (of the entrance camp)
  4. possibly also transportation logistics (in-plant)

Operational procurement process

The procurement articles by the material disposition is activated, which a purchase order request (BANF) released. In the production enterprise the arrangement is a subfunction of production planning and - control. The order covers at least articles, quantity and point of delivery time and - place. The order takes place with a supplier, who already admits in all rule is and with a basic agreement exists. Some procurement procedures even plan that the supplier supervises the stock on-line and when falling below the stock on order the missing goods without being asked delivers.
