By productive enterprise or effect enterprise one understands the regular enterprise of a usually complex system (for example a ERP system or a telecommunication system) or a new business process by that or the angedachten users, contrary to Probebetrieb or test operation.

During the introduction of a complex, usually technical system in the rehearsing or test phase first fundamental functionality is examined. To examine gradually then the user numbers increased over whether the system the desired achievement (e.g. Response time, speed of operation etc.) furnishes. In this phase the system is also often loaded with simulated, non-material input data. Into case of success the system changes by an acceptance and by a delivery to the client into the productive enterprise.

Examples of such gradual introductions are:

  • the system for the collection and account of the truck duty in Germany
  • the introduction of telephones NUMBER Mapping to the integration of telephone numbers to the Domain Name System of the Internet
