Prosperity is a positive condition, which is individually differently noticed. Prosperity sits down from immaterial and material prosperity (standard of living; see also goods supply) together. The standard of living is easier to operationalisieren (measure).

In the context of political decisions and impacts the material prosperity and/or the gross domestic product per head is so far usually considered as indicator for material prosperity. A further indicator is the angel coefficient or the human development index.

In the context of the changes of our society that also different aspects are noticed by prosperity and taken up to the political discourse, for example the mental development and the mental equilibrium are demanded.
