Purchasing associations are unions of usually small and middle enterprises to be able to obtain with the goal with the purchase better conditions. Orders are bundled with the purchasing association. The purchasing associations in a the position are by the larger orders and/or order quantities developing thereby to negotiate higher discounts for the products.

Beside the purchase of goods many purchasing associations offer today still additional services, approximately within the range to marketing.

Examples of purchasing associations are: VEDES (for play goods), TALK ZAC (for entertainment electronics), EDEKA (for food and other consumer articles) and A-BAU (building materials and subcontractor achievements, Austria).
