Radio North-Rhine/Westphalia is the offerer for the master program of nearly all restaurant radios in North Rhine-Westphalia with seat in upper living. Kind of sending was with the first restaurant radio in North Rhine-Westphalia, Radio YOU (today: Radio Duisburg), in April 1990.

Since the restaurant programs cannot obtain sufficient incomes from advertising for their own full program, they take over the central master program between 15 and 21 hours on the day. Within this master program in the presentations the neutral name "“restaurant radio"” is used. Jingles with the station identification are central released and out-played then with the name of the respective transmitter with this remote controlled. Also to locally produced hours Lokalsender transfers the hourly world messages of radio North-Rhine/Westphalia.

As return for the supply of the framework program of radio North-Rhine/Westphalia all attached stations take over an advertising block per hour.

With the start of the restaurant radios in North-Rhine/Westphalia there were first several offerers for the master program. However so fast almost everything decided for radio North-Rhine/Westphalia. Today radio North-Rhine/Westphalia in nearly completely North Rhine-Westphalia is to be heard: only antenna AC, the restaurant radio for the circle Aachen, sends a music rotation in place of the master program of radio North-Rhine/Westphalia. No restaurant radio gives it in the circle to Olpe. The national institute for media in North-Rhine/Westphalia proved however with a decision from 28 April the circle Olpe at least as circulation area for local radio, at present the neighbouring radio victories was radiated there.

Partners von Radio North-Rhine/Westphalia are the press radio North Rhine-Westphalia GmbH & CO. Kg with 59%, the Ufa film and television GmbH (a subsidiary of the RTL Group) with 16,1% and the West German broadcast with 24,9% (conditions: 2003). At the press radio North Rhine-Westphalia GmbH again the Axel Springer publishing house and 37 publishing house companies from North-Rhine/Westphalia are involved (conditions: 1999), among them among other things the newspaper publisher new Bielefeld, which belongs to 57.5% the pressing power GmbH, in which the German pressure and publishing house company of the SPD is involved with 100% (conditions: 2005).

Radio North-Rhine/Westphalia is the coat program Lokalsender in North-Rhine/Westphalia and the erfolgreicheste radio offerer of Germany. The Media analysis 2006 points, and thus the North-Rhine/Westphalia to the transmitter--Restaurant radio, daily 1.387.000 listeners out.
