The radio of traffic AG (RAVAG) was created as the first Austrian institute for radio 1924. On 1 October 1924 the official transmit mode from a provisional Studio was taken up to Vienna at the room ring. General manager of the RAVAG was Oskar Czeija.

On 25 July 1934 the transmitting plants were occupied in the Johannesgasse by National Socialist Putschisten, which were disguised as federal army soldiers. An explanation that Federal Chancellor Engelbert Dollfuss had withdrawn, was read out. In the following fights parts of the transmitting plants were destroyed and several persons were killed.

In December 1936 the building of the radio house in the Argentinierstrasse was locked.

After the connection in March 1938 the RAVAG was liquidated. The transmit mode became of the realm transmitter Vienna of the German realm Reich (since 1939: LargeGerman broadcast) taken over. On 24 April 1945 the RAVAG took its enterprise. 1958 came out from it the ORF.
