Reibstein () is one of the four treasures of the scholar room in traditional China. It acts thereby around a flat, stony object with a recess for water and a surface for the Anreiben of the india ink. Chinese bar india ink is pressed into oblong pins. These pins are so long rubbed on Reibstein with water, until the desired intensity degree is reached. The surface of the stone must be fine, so that the india ink is not too roughly ground and the Pinselborsten is not damaged. On earlier times scholars engraved poems or their names on Reibsteine in, in order to pass it on on than decorative collecting object or memories.
