Sir Richard Sykes (* 1942, Yorkshire, England), born as a son of a carpenter, is a British scientist.

Sykes led the most important research for products of the company Glaxo.

It visited the evening institute and attained two doctor titles, one as scientist to London University and one in microbiology to the Bristol University.

1972 it went for the first time to Glaxo. Five years later it left Glaxo and worked at the US competitor Squibb, until it finally returned 1986 again to Glaxo.

He worked as a managing director of the company until 1993.

When it became 2002 60 years old, it left those in the meantime GlaxoSmithKline being called company and went to imperially the college.
