The Saatbettbereitung is a form of the cultivation and of crucial importance for the stairway of the seed as the most sensitive section of the plant development. It must consider to the Saatbett to the different requirements of the plants. Order covers the work procedures seed bed spreading and seed. Depending upon the existing equipment allotment Saatbettbereitung and seed take place absetzig (in temporally shifted processing steps) or combine, in a processing step (order seed).

In an optimally prepared Saatbett the following zones are well recognizable:

• Loosens Oberkrume with sufficient portion of fine soil for the imbedding of the seeds; rougher aggregates in this zone reduce the dredging and erosion risk,
• set off seed horizon (surface, on which the grains come to be) with connection to the capillary water ascent for fast germinating,
• Unterkrume with gradual transition to the Unterboden; freely of compressions, but sufficiently backsolidifies (e.g. after a treatment of plows).

An optimal Saatbettbereitung requires a location-fair use of equipment. After the treatment of plows the Saatbettbereitung aims at a soil cutting up, a good as well as a sufficient back solidification. Power-takeoff-driven devices such as Kreiselegge or tine rotor offer for it high technical conditions. Besides seed bed combinations, e.g. planing rail with tine and/or stringer gel field, also pulled, are gladly used before or between tandem-like arranged staff or The modern tandem concept ensures an exact adherence to the operating depth compared with the other devices. In order procedures without plow the Saatbettbereitung is with large straw masses a problem. A repeated centraldeep straw training leads here to a soil straw mixture, into which troublefree with usual crowd technology can be sown.
