Samuel Eisenmenger, called Sideocrates, (*1534 in Bretten "† Bruchsal1585) was a German physician, theologian and a Astrologe.

Life

Eisenmenger studied in Wittenberg with Philipp Melanchton. 1557 he took over the chair for mathematics at the University of In this time it was concerned with cartography and the astrological interpretation of sunning and lunar eclipses. 1568 it was relieved of its office, since it was considered as a sympathizer of the schlesischen theologian Kaspar Schwenckfeld.

Eisenmenger became in the course of the time a body physician of the bishop von Speyer, the Mark count von Baden, the archbishop of Cologne and the bishop of Strasbourg.

It edited the work of the Paracelsus and published works over the application of the Astrologie in the medicine.
