sanofi aventis is 2004 a developed French-German Pharma company. With a conversion of about 15 billion euro and with more than 96,000 persons employed he is after Pfizer (the USA) and the British Glaxo of third biggest Pharmakonzern of the world.

The French Pharma company Sanofi had in April 2004 the French-German competitor Aventis with strong support of the French government taken over, that again 1999 from a fusion of most Marion Roussel, before times most AG (Frankfurt/Main), and the French Pharma company Poulenc (Lyon) had developed. With the fusion at the stock exchange the quotation of the shares of the once largest German Pharmaunternehmens high steam turbine and gas turbine system was terminated.

The main location of the new company in Germany is not any more Frankfurt, but Berlin.
