Back to "Beer mark"The Schlegel brewery AG was a brewery in Bochum. The enterprise became at the 1. May 1854 of the Frankish Brauermeister Johann Joachim Schlegel based.
In the year 1899 the enterprise was converted into a corporation. It transferred in the following decades breweries to Bochum (brewery Arnold Fiege, Victoria brewery), Recklinghausen, greed life and Herne. In the former Viktoriabrauerei between Castroper road and flower road starting from 1933 apple juice was manufactured.
Beer production constantly rose:
- 1898 - 66,000 hl
- 1913 - 100,000 hl
- 1928 - 325,000 hl
- 1958 - 500,000 hl.
The Second World War led to large damage, but some years later the Schlegel brewery AG already belonged to the ten largest brewery enterprises of Germany.
In the year 1971 Dortmunder union Schult hot brewery AG transferred the enterprise. On 11 December 1979 the supervisory board of the Dortmunder decided union Schult hot brewery AG to quiet-add the Bochumer enterprise. The attitude of production took place in July 1980.
The area was sold to 1983 to the land development company North-Rhine/Westphalia, which let most buildings and which usable area made tear off.
Two businessmen acquired the trademark laws for Schlegel in the year 2002 and let under this mark of the brewery Schwelm a beer manufacture, which is sold in Bochumer scene taverns.
