A security agency is a service, which takes place on behalf with enterprises and other mechanisms. Increasingly such tasks in the way outsourcing at outside firms are assigned.

Different tasks can be a component of a relevant contract of employment:

  • Guard of objects (awake protection)
  • Doorman activities
  • Control tasks (also by devices for transillumination or with awake dogs)
  • Protection of individuals
  • Money and value transportation
  • Treatment of moneys
  • Sicherheitschauffeur/specialprotected vehicles
  • Monitoring of hazardous states (emergency call - and service directing centers)

Objects, in which security agencies can be active:

  • Office building (messages, enterprise, public mechanisms, museums)
  • Energy installations (e.g. Nuclear power stations)
  • Camp (usually for valuable goods or danger property, like explosives and easily inflammatory materials)
  • Stations (e.g. Course protection company), courses (e.g. Underground guard) and airports (security check) etc.
  • Private building
  • Ports
  • Museums etc.

The members of the security agency exercise generally the key force and the house right as possession servants in the objects.

Legal basis for are "ยง 34 A of the trade and industrial regulations and the guard regulation. To coworkers of private security agencies only the everyone being entitled right of the citizens - as for example the self-defence - is entitled. Exceptions arise out as a result of the lending with sovereign rights, in Germany apply to the ranges air traffic, nuclear power stations and German Federal Armed Forces.

In Germany the obligation exists to from the outside visibly carry a document of identification at the clothes for the coworkers.
