The "“Siemens 2000"” is 16 a mm film projector, which was brought to in the middle of the 50's by the company Siemens on the market. It was and is particularly in schools much likes and partly this very day for school films in schools is used, which transferred not yet completely to video. The series of the Siemens projectors decrease/go back into the 30's. There were devices with photographic sound recording already at that time.

The durable building method made it the ideal school film equipment, since this prevented that due to the high wear in the school enterprise within short time new equipment had to be purchased. By the modular construction also the armament of silent movie equipment was to the clay/tone film equipment within shortest time possible.

In addition it offered the possibility of using lamps of different Watt number in order to be able to adapt the light achievement to differently large conference rooms. To the selection stood 250W, 375W, 500W or 750W. Unfavorably however that was when inserting another lamp strength likewise necessary changes of the lamp pre-resistor! This was also one of the Hauptnachteile, how e.g. delivered with a 500W-Lampe, which is operated with approx. 110V, during a lamp stream of 4A and a mains voltage of 230V nearly 500W as waste heat to outside air! There were also remarks with connecting transformer, this prevented the enterprise as heating. Also re-equipment on halogen bulbs were usual, in order to reduce the delivered amount of heat and improve the light achievement.

When one of few 16mm-Projektoren knows the speed by means of a centrifugal governor switch between 16 and 26 pictures per second is steplessly adjusted, three picture change numbers (16, 18 and 24 Bilder/s) are exactly adjustable by means of a Stroboskopscheibe. The possibility of the infinitely variable speed control makes the equipment particularly interesting for the Abfilmen of old films with the help of a video camera.

The screen could be switched by a two to a three-wing screen by simply serving of a rotary button. However this projector had also some disadvantages: Thus in nearly all models asbestos was blocked among other things - partly even directly in the air flow of the exhaust.

2000 there was the Siemens in very different versions: Silent movie remarks, remarks for photographic sound recording, for light and magnetic sound also firmly flanged on or separate subordination tube amplifier, with and without clay/tone photograph possibility as well as devices with a separate tape mechanism on the projector back to the Nachvertonung of own photographs. Later in the 60's the tube amplifiers were replaced by transistor amplifiers.

Few years before the locking of the cinema range of the company Siemens in the year 1969 still another Vario objective for the Siemens was introduced 2000.
