The silver maple (Acer saccharinum) is a tree species from the kind of the maples (Acer). These are placed today into the family of the soap tree plants (Sapindaceae), educated in former times however their own family of maple plants (Aceraceae).

The tree originating from the eastern North America can reach a height of up to 40 meters. It carries over-hanging branches and its crust is grey colored.
