The sort list is an official listing of the office for federal sort, into which new planting places after existed sort examination one registers. Thus the seeds of this sort are recognized in Germany and may be driven out.

European Union sort catalog

Since 1972 there is a common sort catalog of the European Union member states over agricultural plant types and kinds of vegetable. The catalog consists of sorts of the national sort lists of the member states. The European Union decides, which sorts are taken up. A sort, which was taken up to the common sort catalog, enjoys complete traffic liberty in the member states.

The common sort catalog contains more as 10,000 vegetable sorts and more than 5,000 agricultural plant types.
