SOUTHWEST television is since 30 August 1998 the name for the third television program of the southwest broadcast. The program exists already since 5 April 1969, at that time still under the name southwest 3 in co-operation of Southern German Broadcasting Corporation, Southwestern German Broadcasting Corporation and SR. As last third television program was inserted at that time in the Federal Republic and radiated at the beginning of only on weekend.

The national programs of the SWR of television are sent made of Stuttgart for Baden-Wuerttemberg and made of Mainz for Rhineland-Palatinate and amount to 30 % of the total portion. Produced and television generally sends its national program for the Saarland in Saarbruecken to the SR under the name SR. The remaining 70 % are out-played central arranged, in the bathe Badener Play Out center, and are in all three Lands of the Federal Republic to be seen.
