The Spiesstanne (Cunninghamia lanceolata) is the only kind from the kind Cunninghamia and also the only kind in the Unterfamilie Cunninghamioideae in that the (Cupressaceae).

Spreading

Description

The Spiesstanne is an evergreen tree; it reaches a stature height of 50 m and master diameter of 3 M. the bark is grey to dark-brown or red-brown, it becomes detached in irregular aromatically smelling pieces and then is one yellowish or reddish internal crust to be seen. The dark-green crown is conical or conical. The ends of the branches hang. The sheets become about 15 mm long.

The Spiesstanne is getrenntgeschlechtig The oval male taps to several together, most at the reason of the female taps. To four female taps sit together. Per Zapfen-Schuppe develop three winged, dark-brown, oblong to oval seeds, them are 5 to 6 mm long and about 4 mm wide. It prospers to rocky slopes in forests, and at edges of road, in altitudes from 200 to 2800 m NN. In forests it is often the dominant factor tree species.
  • C. lanceolata var. konishii (Syn.: C. konishii, C. kawakamii): Their homeland are the Chinese province: Fujian, and the central and northern Taiwan, northern Laos and Viet Nam. There it prospers particularly in laurel mixed woodlands, in altitudes between 1300 to 2000 m NN.
