Staff being awake master (StWm) is an NCO rank in the Austrian federal army. He is normally a commander of a course, can however also the guidance of a group take over. If one completed the NCO course (duration 1 year) to the HUAk (ENNS), one can after further 4 years service than Wachtmeister and positive entrance examination on the junior sergeant training course (lasts insg. ) Go to 1 year. 6 months course to the HUAk and 6 months at the corresponding branch of service school. After positively completed course one is applicable trained junior sergeant and for the guidance of a course or in a staff with officers.
