Stippigkeit (too centraldown German stip (p) e = point) is a deficiency symptom, which can occur with apples.

The appearance is determined by a bitter taste and by the occurrence of roundish, somewhat sunk and discoloured marks on the bowl. The Stippigkeit shows up already in the tree, increases however on the camp strongly. Possible causes for this deficiency symptom are strong fluctuations of temperature and precipitation and/or humus-poor, pilotwet soils. A further cause can be lack of calcium in the fruit. The more highly the calcium content in the fruit, they are inclined the less to the Stippigkeit.
