Sunbeam Talbot Darracq was a Zusammnschluss British and French car manufacturers.
In the course of the yearly 1919 A.DARRACQ & CO Ltd. bought up the marks Sunbeam and Talbot, and created in the year 1920 the group of STD (Sunbeam - valley-offered - Darracq). The automobiles sold in Great Britain kept the label name Sunbeam and Darracq (up to the year 1939). For France one preferred the mark valley-offered. Production was rationalized under the line of engineer Coatalen, and the models of Suresnes had a lively success, in particular with the "10cv". However the crisis did not exempt the enterprise, which had unfortunately introduced the 8 Pacific cylinders at the same time from 1929 also. 1935 went to STD into bankruptcy and by Rootes were taken over. Since then the vehicles under the name Sunbeam Talbot were manufactured (the French part of the company was sold > Talbot Lago), until they were repaired starting from 1953 under the name Sunbeam.
