The telecommunications data security regulation was a regulation of the German Federal Government valid to 2004, in which the protection of personal data was regulated by telecommunications offerers. It had been issued in the year 2000 on basis of the telecommunications law and replaced the telecommunication service enterprise data security regulation.

One specified, which connecting data could be stored by service tenderers - e.g. the German Telekom - and when they were to be deleted again. Also regulations were to the single connecting proof, for call number transmission as well as to directory entries and the telephone information.

In the year 2004 the substantial regulations of the telecommunications data security regulation became into the telecommunications law (TKG 2004) aufnommen. The data security in the telecommunications is since then in "§"§ the 91-107 TKG 2004 regulated.

With the integration of the data security regulations into the telecommunications law by data-security commissioners was considered to a request of many years. These had demanded to regulate the data security in telecommunications by a formal law decided by the Bundestag and not only by a ministerial regulation.

The telecommunications data security regulation stepped to 26 June 2004 repealed.
