The Teledienstedatenschutzgesetz regulates the data security of the users of Telediensten. It came into force 1997 together with the Teledienstegesetz and the signature law 1997 as part of the law for the regulation of the basic conditions for information and communication services.

Concerned of the Teledienstedatenschutzgesetz among other things the imprint of a side, the collection of server statistics, is all kinds of process completions, like e.g. Contact contacts, where the user enters personal data.

After original planning the Teledienstedatenschutzgesetz should be replaced still in the year 2005 by the new Telemediengesetz. In view of the dissolution 15. German Bundestag it is however questionable whether this goal can be still achieved.
